Warm colors, movement, and abstract compositions allow me to express my feelings in batiks. It is the process itself, which I love about making batiks; it makes me loose all sense of time. My works are usually triggered by a memory or feeling that evokes certain colors and compositions. I then let these colors and compositions serve as a foundation and source of inspiration from which the rest of the art work evolves.  It is essential for me that I am free to apply the dies as I like, particularly since I like to be guided by the colors that emerge. Hence, I use free brush techniques. I have managed through experimentation to develop techniques that allow me to use such a free brush style with the wax resist process used in batiks.
